Usually, I start casting lessons before the meeting starting in April, but my wife and I will be on the road that week. I will be at the San Jose Fly Shop open house on Saturday, April 1st, in case anyone needs a quick casting "tweak" in the parking lot. There will also be some casting demos from vendors during the day.
Spey Casting Clinic

Ernie's Casting Pond is hosting a Sage Spey Rod Clinic, Sunday May 21st 10AM to 5PM on the Yuba or American River. Cost is $150 and all rods, reels and lines are supplied by Sage.
The instructor, Bill Lowe instructs for flyfishing schools throughout the state. He is well equipped to meet the needs of the beginner as well as the more advanced angler.
You will learn the effectiveness of spey-rod casting and fishing right on the water! You will learn both single-spey and double-spey casts. You will gain a good understanding of terminology associated with spey-rod fishing. Both Traditional and European rod tapers will be used and you will have a chance to try each. The class is limited to no more than six casters. Register at Ernie's Casting Pond or by calling 462-4665.
