The High Country and Golden Trout
Speaker: Bob Knoebel

This month's guest speaker and I have been friends for a lot of years, from when we both worked as lifeguards at the beaches on Long Island Sound. It didn't have the crashing waves we have out here but it was enough to keep us both enthralled with the natural beauty surrounding us. Bob stayed in aquatics, making it his career with the Westport/Weston, Connecticut YMCA. In the last twenty five or thirty years, Bob has managed to travel the West and fly fish in places I've only dreamed of.
His eye for pure, natural beauty led his to his other passion, fly fishing photography, and a job with The Big Sky Journal as a writer and photographer. You can see some of his work in "Angling For The Front" featured in the Fly Fishing section of one of last year's issues.
It's my pleasure to share my old friend Bob and his passion for our sport, with our club. Bob's presentation will be based on his many trips to the Sierra where he has hiked the high country in pursuit of California's golden trout.

Note: Our Monthly Raffle Chairman, Tom Donovan advises anyone attending this month's club meeting to come prepared to purchase lots of raffle tickets, because the raffle will feature a Sage FLI 9 foot four-piece 5 weight fly rod.
