Topwater Stripers
Guest Speaker: Lee Haskins

We are fortunate to have a local flyfishing celebrity be our first speaker in the Aptos Grange. The person in question is none other than Watsonville's own Lee Haskin. You already know Lee if you fish San Luis Reservoir or the Delta and are using his gurgler patterns. For those who are not familiar with Lee, I can say that he has made the gurgler pattern one of the top surface water striper patterns on the central coast. Although Lee didn't create the gurgler, he embraced the pattern (the barbless hook variety) and with some fine-tuning made it even better. One of his latest variations is the rattler gurgler. Lee will demonstrate how to tie the gurgler and, of course, how best to incorporate the pattern into the local striper scene.

*NOTE: The Aptos Grange facility is also rented by Jazzercise, and they request that our group not enter the building or make a lot of noise out in the parking lot until they exit the building, which should be no later than 6:45 PM. They thank us in advance for our cooperation and courtesy.
