October being the month of jack o' lanterns, ghosts and mysteries, it seemed appropriate to have the mystery man himself - Andy Giubord - as our speaker. (See the President's Message for the mystery.) Kiene's Fly Shop's website took the mystery out of Andy's background. Turns out that Andy is Bill Kiene's "go to" striper guide. If river stripers are your game, Andy should be your guide.
The crews at Kiene's also refer to Andy as The Fly Fishing Commando for his enthusiasm for new fly fishing opportunities. Andy admits to specializing in striper guiding on the numerous valley rivers, with the American River being his forte.
Looking for that one photo of you holding the "hog" striper that you just landed while fishing with Andy? Andy is quite an accomplished digital photographer. His degree in art has given him an eye for those special moments in a fisherman's life that defines the sport.
Say Andy, who did take that photo of you? You know. The one back in Connecticut!
