* New Fly Shop in Town
Our members now have multiple choice to make when going out on the town to purchase their fishing equipment. Just after Thanksgiving, The Angler's Choice celebrated their grand opening. New owners Mark and Julia Dingler have embarked on their new life journey of operating a fishing store.
The store address is 1203 41st Ave., Capitola, right across from the Spa Fitness Center. The store is about 70 percent conventional bait and tackle, and fly fishing gear is about the other 30 percent. Familiar brands like Fish Pond, G. Loomisfly and conventional rods, TFO rods, Dan Bailey waders and boots, Clear Creek vests and chest packs and Teton/Tioga reels make up the bulk of the fly gear selection.
There are the usual flies in the fly bin along with a hefty selection of Enrico Puglisi salt water patterns. The owner has assured me that he has an unusual array of steelhead patterns and supplies for this upcoming season.
Gift certificates are available upon request. Mark is also offering a 10 percent discount to all members of our club. So bring your membership card and be ready to start your holiday shopping with a nice 10 percent off gift from The Angler's Choice.
