It's A Night Out With Good Friends - Enjoy It!
by Tim Loomis

My last article was a combination of "How to Chose a Good Guide" and having fun. Our last month's guest speaker led us deep into the night with his knowledge and opinions on still water fishing. Any time I have a chance to learn more than I know (which is like - always) I have a good time. Knowledge sometimes comes with a price. As an example, I now always use some type of rod leash whenever I am float tubing. I learned that lesson the hard way.

What I am getting at is that I have received some complaints that our meeting last month went on far too long for some to enjoy. My immediate response was that the guest speaker had a lot to say. I have been asked to try to shorten the official goings on of our meetings to allow more time for the invited speakers to have their say. This can be done and will be implemented come May 2nd.

There were some comments made about the length of time that it took for our conservation charman to give his report. I must apologize to the chairman for failing to back his efforts up when the discussion was held. That was left to another member to remind us of the dedication, time and effort that the conservation chairman puts in on our club's behalf and that of the waters in our state that are under intense pressure by water grabbing interests.

To those of you that found the meeting unbearably long I say this: we meet only once a month. Surely you can find the time to hang with us. The meetings are educational and fun, by golly. Heck, I will even pop some popcorn and ask that the coffee brewers make an extra strong batch. Lets have some fun!

Fish on!
