* Ernie's Casting Pond 30th Anniversary!
Ernie's Casting Pond is celebrating their 30-year anniversary on Saturday, June 2nd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We will have Hutch Hutchison, Orvis Regional Business Mgr, FFF Master Instructor, 20 year guide and featured angler on OLN TV. Hutch will have all the latest in Orvis rods, reels and lines. There will be casting demonstrations and instruction as well as fly tying seminars for a day of learning, fun and lots of fish talk. We will be raffling an Orvis Zero Gravity 5 wt rod among other fly fishing items. Refreshments also. Hope you will join us. - Ernie and Diane Kinzli, Ernie's Casting Pond

* Board Members Needed
At the last board meeting, several resignations were announced, the most critical of which was our Conservation Chairman, Dougald Scott, who has resigned effective immediately. He is heavily involved in the NCCFFF, and the travel and obligations that come with that responsibility make it impossible for him to continue as Conservation Chairman for the SCFF. We all wish to express our gratitude for his service, and appreciation for his efforts on behalf of conservation. We need someone who is committed to staying on top of conservation issues to step forward and volunteer to take over this board position, which is vital if we are to continue to be able to fly fish unpolluted, undeveloped waters.
Another position will be vacant at the end of this year, that of Newsletter Editor. John Pennington will resign effective December 31st, and Pete Thomas will be taking over the position of Treasurer for 2008. Both our editors have done a fine job rounding up the content for the newsletter and we are thankful for their service.
Mike White has resigned as our Facilities Coordinator, and we still need someone to volunteer for that job.
If you are thinking about volunteering for any of the above-mentioned positions, but are unclear about what the jobs entail, please contact the persons currently holding those jobs. If you enjoy our club, and have yet to step forward to pitch in and help out, don't hesitate; we won't have a club unless you are willing to make a small commitment to us. - The SCFF Board
