This pattern was originally designed by Dave Brown, as a midge emerger, but was soon converted to a caddis emerger and has proven very effective. Almost any caddis species can be imitated by varying hook size and color of materials.
It is very easy to tie, requiring only two different materials, but don't let its simplicity fool you. Some of my biggest fish hookups have been with this fly.
Bring camel or tan 8/0 thread, and your vise, tools and any magnification needed. All other materials and hooks will be provided. Some equipment and tools are available for beginners who do not yet have their own. As always, beginners are especially welcome.
If you didn't get a chance to sign up for this class at the June club meeting (there is no July club meeting), and you want to attend, please call Kathy at 728-4130.
