I thought that August would be a good month to bring in a local environmental expert to discuss the health of some of our local rivers.
Sean Hayes of NOAA and the Scotts Creek laboratory will be our guest Wednesday, Aug. 1st. Sean will give us updates on the salmon/steelhead runs in local waters that include Scott Creek, the San Lorenzo, Soquel and Aptos Creeks. This is as good a time as any to see how club members and the club as a whole can be more proactive in the efforts to keep healthy populations of ocean- going salmonids returning to our own area streams and creeks.
Bring your notebooks and recorders as there will be a short quiz after Sean's program.
