Orange Stimulator
Fly Tying Instructor: Lee Fitzsimmons

Stimulators are a combination of fact and fantasy and deserve a prominent place in your searching-flies box. It is most popular during the Salmon Fly hatch of the spring and the giant caddis hatches of the fall. It can be tied in a variety of colors. The Orange Stimulator is an excellent imitation for the largest of the stoneflies, the famous salmon fly. I have often used it on the Rogue River during the big stonefly hatches in June and July.

Bring florescent orange 6/0 or 8/0 thread, and your vise, tools and any magnification needed. All other materials and hooks will be provided. Some equipment and tools are available for beginners who do not yet have their own. As always, beginners are especially welcome.
