Flashtail Whistler
Instructor: Gil Santos

The Flashtail Whistler imitates a variety of bait fish. It is a fly that is time-tested, used to fool many predatory fish in fresh or salt water. It is an exceptional fly for striped bass, one that is a favorite in the Sacramento Delta.
This is a large fly, from 4 inches to 5 inches long, and can be tied in various colors. You will be working with bucktail hair, grizzly saddles, and flashy materials.
Bring 3/0 waxed white or light green thread, your vise, light, tools and magnification or glasses, if needed. All necessary materials will be provided, along with helpful assistance and demonstration. Some equipment is available for those people who do not yet have their own, and, as always, beginners are particularly welcome.

Sign ups will be taken at the September meeting, or you may call the instructor at 462-2010.
