Our November Guest speaker is Craig Nielson, a club pet speaker from last spring's Pleasanton Fly show. I must have received at least six calls from members following the Fly Show to look Craig up and have him as a monthly guest speaker. So, here we are in November and Craig is on his way down from Shasta to live up to the hype the members have generated.
At the time of this writing, I have been unable to get a definitive subject for his talk so I will make an educated guess as to the subject matter. Craig is from Mt. Shasta; hence, I'm guessing his talk will be centered around the multiple fishing opportunities in Northern California along the I-5 corridor north of Redding.
With steelhead season already in full bloom up there, you can bet Craig will have something to say about the awesome steelhead run on the Trinity and the temptation to go a little further north and fish the Klamath. With the Upper Sacramento and McCloud rivers as neighboring waters you can be sure that those two rivers will also be featured.
Proof of Craig's sterling reputation as a guide was on display at this past weekend's NCCFFF meeting in Redding where his
donated guided trip on the Klamath was auctioned off for $200.00 over the suggested set price. Craig gives our members another dimension in the guide pool of Northern California.
