* Aptos Grange Hall (our club's meeting hall)
We have been at our new location for about a year now. It seems to be meeting our needs very well and the cost is very reasonable. Let's be sure that we stay in their good graces. A few reminders:
* Refrain from entering the building until after 6:30 PM, when the Jazzercise class ends.
* Dust floor after each meeting and mop up any spills.
* Pick up all trash, cups, etc.
* Only eat or drink in the smaller side room-no food or drinks are allowed on the hardwood floor.
* After replacing all the folding chairs in the racks, be sure that the racks do not block the office door.

Note: The Grange organization collects items to donate to the needy. If you have any usable clothing, furniture, or household items that you would like to donate, they would love to receive them. Just bring them to the Grange Hall and place in the small room at the far end.

* Annual Slide Show
It's time for everyone to get their photos to me for the Annual Slide Show, which will take place at our January 2nd club meeting. Most of you now take digital photos, so you may attach them to e-mails sent to me. Remember, I have a new e-mail address, it's dougald@comcas.net. If you still have film photos that you want included, please let me know by either e-mailing me, or calling me at 427-1394, and I'll scan your prints or slides and return them to you.

* Dame Juliana Award
The Dame Juliana Award is a cash prize, given annually to a recipient, who, by popular vote of the members, best exemplifies the spirit of our club: "to promote, educate and enjoy the sport of fly fishing." The ballot box will be at the November, December and January meetings, so come prepared to cast your vote for the person who you think has been the most helpful to you personally. Your nominee may have given you some flies to try, advised you on how to fish a particular stretch of water, helped you with your casting, or just gone out of their way to make you feel welcome and included. If you'd like to see them rewarded, put their name in the ballot box.

* New Board Position
The SCFF Board is looking for someone who could serve on as a publicist/media liason. The duties would include creating articles and placing them in local media, like the Santa Cruz County Sentinel, and perhaps, local public access TV. Anyone interested in such a position, please contact Tim Loomis, 426-4683, surfcoop@sbcglobal.net.
