Going Out With A Bang
by Tim Loomis

Here it is almost December, and as I have said in earlier columns, I have had a "poor" year for big fish. But, things are looking brighter. In two weeks, I will be on the Trinity River doing battle with bright, ocean fresh, chrome bombs. What I am looking to do is finish out the year in a flourish of fins, sort of like making up for the rest of 2007 by having the "Grand Fin-ale". Word is that there are a good number of steelhead in the Trinity system along with a good number of fishermen fishing for the same steelhead that I am after. What is needed here is a call to action. We need an excellent guide who can put some distance between the competition all the while babysitting me and my companion as we boat ten-pounder after ten-pounder. Who has time to dream about sugar plums when there are fresh Pacific steelhead calling out your name? Hey, this is my dream, so you go dream your own Christmas fantasy. Excuse me, but I am being called. Merry Christmas to all and to to all a good bite!
Fish On!
