Henry Landgraf
1913 - 2008

Henry George Landgraf died on March 27, 2008. Henry was born in Canton, Ohio on January 29, 1913. In his early 20's he moved to Detroit where he became a tool maker. After retirement he moved to Santa Cruz, California where he pursued his passion : fly fishing.

Henry was one of the Santa Cruz Fly Fishermen's charter lifetime members. Even in his later years, he helped out with fly tying and casting lessons, and traveled with the group that fished at Pyramid Lake, Nevada, and Green River, Utah. He was an active, contributing member for many years, until age and infirmity forced him to move back to Michigan to be near his daughter. Those who attended the Pyramid Lake fishout this year took part in an "empty chair" ceremony to honor his passing.

He is survived by his two sisters, Helena Langraf - age 97 (Canton, Ohio) and Margaret Bann - age 90 (Yuma, Arizona) and his two daughters, Carol Tough (Rochester Hills, Michigan) and Kathlene Kolts and son-in-law Raymond Kolts (Hayden Lake, Idaho). His final resting place will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Canton, Ohio.

Henry was singularly devoted to our sport. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.
