The elk hair caddis is a simple fly to tie, but is one of the best to have in your fly box. You can tie this variation in many different colors. The elk hair caddis can be tied so that the body and wing match, or contrasting colors can be used for a nice two-toned effect. Experiment and see what works best for the area you are fishing.
Bring olive 6/0 or 8/0 thread, your vise, tools, light, and any magnification you may need. If you are a beginner and do not yet have your own equipment, several set ups are available for you to use, so don't let that stop you from attending.
A sign up sheet for this class will be available at the June club meeting. Sign ups are important, so that the instructor can prepare enough materials and instruction sheets for everybody. If you sign up and later find out you cannot attend, please call 476-0648 and let the instructor know.
