Shad and Lake Almanor

I have an opening for somebody wanting to go shad fishing on Sat, June 21. In addition, I was planning on heading up to Lake Almanor to try the Hex hatch that evening and part of Sunday. In general, the plan would be to leave Friday afternoon around 1-2 PM, drive up to Chico, stay there Friday night, fish shad on Sat, drive to Almanor Sat afternoon and fish there that evening. I'd probably camp there Sat night then fish Sunday and come backhome. Cost for the guided trip is $200 (plus tip), about $30-40 for hotel, and gas (figure $10 million), and food. The June surf fish out will take place at Manresa Beach on Saturday, June 7 at 06:15 AM. See you there! From Highway 1, south of Aptos, San Andreas Road heads southwest and continues to Manresa, the first beach access upon reaching the coast.

Once again, our club is fortunate to have the privilege to fish the Bourdet Ranch. It is a beautiful 18,000-acre ranch located across from the Casa de Fruta Restaurant on Hwy 152. The ranch offers two well-stocked ponds and a full day of fishing, generally from float tubes. Bring your lunch and water. You must ride in a 4-wheel vehicle to travel on this property. If you are interested in this one-day fishout for bass and pan fish, or if you have questions, please contact me by phone or email. There is no specific date or time to sign up, but space is limited to six persons, so if you want to go, be sure to let me know ASAP.

Kelly and David Lehrian are looking for one person to fill a last minute cancellation for a pack trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness in Montana July 15th - July 24th. The fishing will be done on Young's Creek with a 3 - 4 day excursion to the South Fork of the Flathead River to target Bull Trout! The fishing is outstanding with 50 fish days not out of the question. The fish are all native Westslope Cutthroat and Bull Trout. Most Cuts are in the 14" Ð 16" range, with 18" - 20" certainly possible and the Bulls range from 25" - 35". The cost for the 10 day trip is $2650 per person which includes everything except airfare to Missoula, MT. You could also opt for the shorter seven-day version as the guides have agreed to bring people out at the seven-day mark. The cost for the seven-day trip is $1855 plus airfare. It is 6 - 8 hours on horseback to get to the camp but we stop every couple of hours and take a break. You will probably not see any people outside of our own group the entire trip.
