Upcoming Fishing Outings

Surf Fishout - Jan. 10th
Fishmaster: Sam Bishop

January 10, Saturday, 07:15 AM we meet at Manresa Beach during a mid-flood tide for our monthly Surf fishout. Everyone is welcome. For details on what to bring and how to "Gear Up", refer to our web page, "Surf Fishing Info". The link is on the left side bottom of the list of articles.

Take San Andreas/Larkin Valley exit off Highway One and head all the way to the beach. It is the first State Beach right after you pass under the railroad trestle. See you there! If you need more info, feel free to contact me, Sam Bishop, at flyfish@totlcom.com or 831-274-4024.

The SCFC Annual "Confab"
Saturday, February 21st - Santa Cruz Gardens Elementary School
ConFab Master: Troy Mayers - 429-5464

The "Confab" is a fly fishing tradition. It is an informal exchange of views and ideas, or, in this case, a fly fisherman's opportunity to schmooze with a large group of friends, with a fly rod in one hand and a burger in the other. This year we are going to add a few fun things that you will not want to miss. The theme: everyone casts, everyone ties.

The Casting Party Master Caster Walt Robinson:
Hands on Clinics, Basics, Distance and Accuracy Demos, Spey, Single Spey, Roll casts, Shooting heads. There will be a casting pond, and the ever-popular Annual Casting Contest, all levels.

Behind the Vise: Fly Tying Instructor and hostess Elaine Cook:
Bring your vise, and tie one on, all day. There will be clinics and a Blind Tying contest. The fly of the day will be the LA Times "Yellow Sally".

Displays: Flies, Rods, Reels, Lines, Conservation and Fishouts/

Clinics: Knots, Wader repair, and more.

Barbeque: Anybody who says there's no such thing as a free lunch would be wrong! See you there!

Big Swap Meet: Perfect time to unload your old stuff to someone else. One guy's trash is another guy's treasure!

Next Meeting: Get ready to volunteer and get ready to have some fun. Let me know if you want to be a part of the festivites.
