* Central Coast Fly Fishing Shop
To those of you who did business with Ernie and Diane, I'd like to make a pitch for your business. I've been a fly fisher since 1973; have taught elements of fly fishing professionally since 1990; and opened my shop in April 1996. I graduated from Cal Poly, SLO, in 1984 with a B. S. Degree in Natural Resources Management.
I currently represent the following primary brands: Sage, Redington, Bauer Fly Reels, Ross Reels, Simms, Scientific Anglers, Rio, Outcast and Fish Pond. There are other brands I have access to upon request.
I do not discount my prices (unless products are being discontinued by me or the manufacturer) but I do try to provide the best customer service I can by offering a free 1-hour casting lesson with the purchase of any fly rod, offering free gift wrapping, and shipping repairs to the manufacturer for freight and a modest handling charge and actively working with CDFG and NOAA-Fisheries to keep our local steelhead fisheries healthy and open to anglers.
Now through Christmas Eve, customers purchasing $200 or more in gifts are invited to a free 2-hour casting clinic on January 10 (time to be announced) as a token of my appreciation for your business.
My shop hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 to 6. I'm also open on Sundays from 11 to 4 through Christmas Eve. Please call ahead to make sure I'm here but I do my best to keep my hours.
Finally, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 831-626-6586 or via email at geoff@centralcoastflyfishing.com. If you want to be placed on the shop's email list for sales, trips and classes, just let me know. I look forward to serving you.
Sincerest regards,
Geoff Malloway, Central Coast Fly Fishing

* Bianka Bommarito Receives Award
Brian Bommarito, a former member of the club, and now a fishing guide out of The Fly Shop in Redding, has a special reason to be happy this holiday season. Brian's daughter, Bianka, received a scholarship award from the Golden West Women's Flyfishers (GWWF) out of San Francisco. Each year the GWWF Scholarship Foundation presents two $1500 awards for students working on advanced degrees related to fishery biology.
Bianka is attending CSU Sacramento where she has received her Bachelor's Degree in Science/Biology. She is currently working on her MS Degree with an emphasis on Biological Conservation. Though her studies keep her quite busy, she does love the outdoors and enjoys time on the water with her family in Redding. The presentation was made to Bianka at the annual December "Fishmus Party" of GWWF at the Anglers Lodge in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
Congratulations from the SCFF membership!

* Thanks to Fly Tying Instructors
A special thank you goes out to all the expert fly tiers who gave their time and effort to provide instruction at our monthly classes during 2008: Kent Hull, Chris Walters, Lee Haskins, Kathy Powers, and John Steele. Job well done guys!
Elaine Cook, Fly Tying Coordinator
(Editors note: And thank YOU Elaine, for your part in putting together such a excellent, educational, and fun program!)
