The June guest speaker is a well respected bamboo rod maker from Angel's Camp, CA. Larry Tusoni, however, is not your typical bamboo rod maker. All you have to do is visit his workshop to see what I mean. Larry's workshop (High Sierra Rod Co.) is so clean and organized you could perform open heart surgery on his work bench. He may correct me on this, but I believe that Larry made all of his own rod making machines from scratch.
Coming from New England, you could say that Larry has a bit of "Yankee know-how" in him. Be prepared to be dazzled and awed by Larry's knowledge of the bamboo rod history and his own artistry in designing bamboo rods of the finest quality. If you have an old bamboo rod stored away and want to know if it can be repaired to fishing strength again, be sure to bring it along to the June club meeting.
