Upcoming Fishing Outings

Surf Fishout
Fishmaster: Sam Bishop

Next Surf Fishout will be 6 June, 5:45 AM at Palm Beach, aka Pajaro Dunes. It is at the end of Beach Street in Watsonville. Sunrise is at 05:50 AM, with a minus .9' low tide at 4:55 am, so we will be fishing a very low flood tide. This is another productive beach that has produced lots of Stripers.
More info is on the Club web page or contact Sam Bishop, 831-274-4024 or sambishop@totlcom.com.

Bourdet Ranch Bass Fishouts
*Saturday, June 13, or *Saturday, July 11, 2009
Fishmaster: Cecilia Stipes - (831) 335-5727; flyfishgal3@aol.com

This is a one-day event (*note either date to choose from) to a private ranch near Casa de Fruta Restaurant off Hwy 152 in Gilroy. We have access to two very good bass ponds next to a cabin with bathroom facilities. These ponds have maintained their full water capacities throughout the drought years, which have provided productive bass and blue gill fishing. No experience is needed!
The fish are very cooperative so you are bound to have a good day. Because of the undeveloped roads, everyone must have a 4-W drive vehicle in good working condition or team up with someone who does. Bring your float tube, lunch and drinks for a full day. This is a good opportunity to use those homemade poppers, clousers, damsel imitations and woolly buggers. We usually meet at Casa de Fruta Restaurant early enough for breakfast (this is optional), then head into the ranch by 8:00 AM. We generally fish until 6:00 PM. Call me any time if you have questions or concerns.
Space is limited. Sign-up is by calling in on a first-come first-serve basis. Cost: $75 per person. Make checks payable to Cecilia Stipes and mail to: 328 Capelli Drive, Felton, CA 95018.

Mammoth Lakes - Sept. 19-26 and Sept. 26-Oct. 3
Fishmaster: John Cook - 688-1561

The fishout will be over two one-week periods, September 19th through the 26th, and September 26th through Oct. 3th. You may sign up for one of these two periods, or both.
Location: Mammoth Lakes is on the eastern side of the Sierras, six to seven hours' drive from Santa Cruz. There are many lakes and streams in the area for us to fish. We will be staying in condominiums in the town of Mammoth Lakes.
Cost: $260 per person per week. This covers seven nights' lodging with three meals per day. Sign up for either week, for $260, or both weeks for $520.
Meal Preparation: Each person will be assigned to a group for a Kitchen Day. The group will set out breakfast and lunch foods, store unused food, prepare the evening meal, and clean up on the day designated.
Sign Up: The 16 places available per week for this fishout have been filled, but you can call the fishmaster and have him put you on a waiting list, in case someone has to cancel. If a spot becomes available, the fishmaster will contact people on the waiting list, in the order in which they were added to it. To hold your place, we must receive your money before the June 3rd club meeting. Mail your check, made out to John Cook, to P.O. Box 2822, Aptos, CA 95001-2822. This payment is non-refundable.
Unused Funds: Any funds received but not spent on the fishout will be used for prizes for out annual fundraiser.
