Rick E. Martin is a photojournalist with 25 years experience, 17 of them with the San Jose Mercury News, chosen as one of the ten top newspapers in the United States. His sweeping range of experience involves everything from spot news and sports to food, wine, business and architecture. His particular love is the outdoors; among other things he has photographed three books on fly fishing.
Martin is the recipient of numerous awards, including the coveted Pulitzer Prize as part of the Mercury News team covering the disastrous 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. His creative studio photography earned him recognition from the James Beard Food Awards and the Association of Food Journalists. In addition he has won numerous awards from the Outdoor Writers of California.
Rick's presentation promises to be a visual feast, and if you have always wanted to be able to shoot better photos of the outdoors, you owe it to yourself to come to the August meeting and pick up some valuable tips from Rick.
