Shasta Fishout - Oct. 30- Nov.1
by Bruce Dau

Everybody had a good time on the Mt. Shasta Fishout, and were treated to some tricky fish over the Hallowe'en weekend. After a short nymphing demonstration, people spread out and got down to business. Tom Deetz, fishing with Rich Hughett, was the star pupil, hooking nearly a dozen fish for the day. Tom Dwyer and his son Ian, headed over to the McCloud, and found some nice fish on dry flies in the middle section. Jon Bowman and Tom Donovan, after helping Sam Bishop and Ray Dow get started at Ash Camp on the McCloud, headed down to the Conservancy, Jon's favorite spot. Bob Peterson, after being told of a big fish under the Pacific Crest Trail Bridge, headed over to the McCloud, and hooked a nice 12-incher in the exact spot. Everybody found some fish; and by the end of a great Vietnamese dinner at Sengthong's in Dunsmuir, everybody's fish were a little bigger.
