The ConFab is a fly fishing tradition. It is an informal exchange of views and ideas, or, in this case, a fly fishermen's opportunity to schmooze with a large group of friends. This year, we are going to add a few fun things that you will not want to miss. The theme: everyone casts, everyone ties.

* Casting Techniques: The Casting Master, Walt Robinson, will present hands-on clinics, basics, distance and accuracy demos, spey, switch rod, single spey, roll casts, and shooting head casting. There will be the ever-popular Annual Casting Contest, open to all levels of ability.
* Behind The Vise: Fly Tying Master Elaine Cook will be available all day, so bring your equipment, vise, light, and tools. She will conduct fly tying lessons, with the fly of the day being the Dillon Attractor. At lunchtime, there will be the amusing Blind Fly Tying Contest, where competitors will attempt to tie a fly while blindfolded.
* Slide Presentation: Robert Ketley will giving a presentation on shooting heads, the double haul, and distance casting.
* Displays: There will plenty to look at and learn about, with displays of flies, rods, reels, lines, conservation issues, and Fishout information.
* Clinics: There will be clinics on how to tie important and useful knots, how to repair waders, and more.
* Potluck Lunch: Everyone who plans to attend will need to bring an item to share for the potluck lunch. Contact Chris Walters at 588-1066 for information.
