March Meanderings

The deadline for this issue has come while my wife and I are in Tasmania, Australia, sightseeing, birding and, of course, fishing. I have my trout rod and my surf fishing gear, just in case there are errant barred perch or other unsuspecting piscatorial pleasures around the island. I'll let you know at the March 3rd meeting.

In the Santa Cruz Sentinel recently, was a page advertisement, congratulating our long time member Tom Deetz, M.D., who was awarded the 2009 Excellence in Health Care Award by the Santa Cruz Medical Society.
Budget
I am extremely pleased to announce that our fund raiser and our parsimonious nature with expenses has allowed us to allocate $4,000 this year to the conservation budget. I believe this will be the highest ever. Thanks to all of you for that. Details on how it will be spent will be forthcoming from the Conservation Committee.
Youth Activites - Last month I mentioned that we want to start a Youth Activities committee. I have already had some tentative inquiries, so please let me know if you would be willing to serve on the committee.
