* California Fly Shop - Cash for Clunkers!
On March 13th, for ONE DAY ONLY,
we will give you instant, in-store credit for your old gear. It's easy:
LOCATION: 985 Industrial Rd., Ste. 106, San Carlos, CA 94070
1. Bring your old gear* into the store between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
2. We appraise your gear and give you INSTANT in-store credit (AKA "Xav Bucks")
3. Buy new stuff!
Chris and Jenn will be on hand to help you sort and appraise your gear. The rest of us will be there to help you shop and try out new rods and reels. Beer will start flowing around 11:00 AM (hey, it's a Saturday), and there will be plenty of hot dogs for all.
We will be supporting Casting for Recovery at this event, and many of your trade-in items will go to them. If you have other gear you would like to donate (but which will not result in store credit) we encourage you to bring it with you on the 13th. We'll make sure it gets into the right hands.
FREE parking, FREE lunch and FREE beer!
The Fine Print (you knew there had to be some):
* We can only give Cash for Clunkers credit for rods and reels. You are free to donate other gear, but we won't be able to give you store credit for it.
* Cash for Clunkers credit cannot be used for guided trips or travel. * We will not be making change - if your item costs $39.50, be prepared to round up to $40.
* This is a special, one day-only event. All gear credits must be spent in-store on March 13th.

Fly Fishing Film Tour - Friday, March 26th

In just its fourth year, The Fly Fishing Film Tour has become the outdoor and extreme Fly fishing entertainment of the year. This short film collection will tour 75 cities across the nation. Once again Santa Cruz will be the only stop in Northern California. It is a showcase for the outdoor independent filmmakers as they follow fly fisherman catching and releasing fish from Alaska to New Zealand. There are epic and funny fly fishing scenes to be enjoyed by all.

You do not have to be a fly fisherman to enjoy this film selection.

This film event will be a fundraiser for the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project. Established in 1976, the local hatchery and youth education program is currently focusing on the endangered Coho Salmon and Central Coast strain of Steelhead. A special recognition will be given to Al Smith, the project director for over a decade. Oh, and there'll be lots of fun and prizes! Fish On!
