Opening Day of Trout Season - Undisclosed Location
Efrain Montana caught these 3 magnificient trout on opening day at an unspecified location. Efrain used a 6 weight rod with 200 grain sink tip to get down to the fishes' eye level.
All 3 were caught on a black wooley worm w/legs. Way to go Efrain!-Tim Loomis

The sea-run cutthroats are starting to put the bite on a number of nymphs. Sea-run buggers, sand lance imitations, and chum fry imitations are all grabbing a fish or two in the cool waters of Puget Sound. Be sure your waders are free of holes; the 48 degree temperature not very forgiving (thank you Disk Stipes for the neoprene waders, they are just the ticket.)!
Chum salmon will start showing soon and in early summer the resident coho will be taking anything pink the shore anglers have to offer. Scandi and skagit shooting heads are the go-to lines to get your flies out to the feeding fish. If you've never tried Wulff Ambush single hand spey lines - they slice through the wind like a sword through a pirate!
Miss you all.

Lake Nacimiento-Mid-April

Picture was at Nacimiento last week. I only got two white bass, but did get a number of black bass. Fishing overall was off, but maybe because we were there right after the last storm. Interesting lake, because if you catch a white bass, the regulations say you must either release it immediately, or kill it immediately by cutting the gills (not later). But you probably already know that. I had not been there in 10+ years.-Sam Bishop

Wow! What a great day! Drove to another beautiful high mountain lake on the Chilean border. Sunny, light winds, caughtfish on dry flies, streamers, and even when we were rowing back, by trolling. There were rainbows, brookies and browns, all 18" to 22". We landed at least 15 fish. We gave up counting. The landscape is incredible. they have so many parrots, they look like flocks of blackbirds. Tomorrow we leave this lodge and drive up to Bariloche and meet another friend that is going to fish with us for the next 17 days. - Michael DiCiano
