2. 10 wraps of lead wire. Do NOT cut with scissors, it will dull them. Bend wire back and forth until it breaks. Slide lead on shank so that the rear wrap is at mid shank. Remember, this is optional.
3. Apply thread to mid shank. Wrap forward and backward several times to fix lead, then Zap-a-Gap.
4. Select a generous clump of marabou and cut ends so they butt up against lead. Tie on top of shank back to rear of shank.
5. Lay tail shine center on top of shank, tie in with three wraps, then fold over to rear and tie in place. Cut to length of marabou.
6. Tie in tip of hackle at rear of shank.
7. Tie in ribbing at rear of shank.
8. Make a dubbing loop and fill generously. Advance thread to behind hook eye. Dub forward to one eye length behind eye. Tie off, cut excess. Pick out loose stuff with bodkin, brush. Rib in opposite direction 6 or 7 wraps with copper wire, tie off and cut excess. Pick out dubbing once again. Wrap hackle forward in only 4 wraps, tie off and cut excess.
9. Wrap thread head, whip finish, cut thread and apply head cement. Brush dubbing to rear.
