Fishing Pack Trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, MT
Kelly and David Lehrian - 761-8662

Kelly and David Lehrian are looking for four more people to round out a 10 day pack trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness August 9th - 18th. The exact itinerary is still being worked out, but the general plan is to ride in on the 9th, fish two days, move to a different camp (1/2 day move), fish the evening and another couple days, move to a different camp (1/2 day move), fish the evening and another couple days and ride out on the 18th. We will be fishing the South Fork of the Flathead River, its main tributary, Young's Creek, and possibly another tributary, Gordon Creek, which I haven't fished before. We will be catching Westslope Cutthroat Trout.
The ride in and out takes all day, with breaks along the way. You can also hike and walk your horse to get a break out of the saddle. The outfit supplies all tents and cots, food and horses. You will need to bring your clothes, sleeping bag, fishing gear and camera. Fly tying gear is always good to have since you can't just go to a store and buy more flies and an extra rod and reel are prudent.
The fishing is some of the best available due to the ruggedness of the terrain and the limited access. I don't usually see anyone else while out fishing and there is NO trash anywhere along the stream. It is a real pleasure to fish this pristine wilderness. The cost is $2750 per person. The outfitting company is Lake Upsata Outfitters www.upsata.com. Space is limited to a total of six, so let David know ASAP 831-761-8662 or david@lehrian.com. Oh, I almost forgot, Greg has agreed to pack in 2 kegs of home brewed beer this year...yeah!
