This pattern was originated by Frank Murata, and brought to my attention by Petar Ilic. Midges are a very important food source for trout and available to them throughout the winter. This is a great, simple fly for beginners to tie. All materials except the thread will be provided. The thread is a very significant portion of the fly, so do bring olive 8/0. A few spools will be available for beginners as well as the necessary tools and vise.
As always: It is important to sign up at the club meeting or by calling Elaine at 688-1561. Glasses and magnification are very important to tie this fly. Bring tools, vise, light, and thread. If you sign up and later find you are unable to attend, notice of cancellation is appreciated.
