Upcoming Fishing Outings

Pyramid Lake Fishout
Fishmaster: Jim Hall - 786-8983

It's time to start thinking about Pyramid Lake again. This is the first fishout of the year, and is always a lot of fun. The fishing has gotten better every year, with bigger fish and bigger numbers.
The fishout will be March 14th through March 20th. You need to call Crosby Lodge at 1-702-476-0400 to reserve your cabin. You will be on your own for food so plan on cooking your meals. Call ASAP! Plan to dress for cold or warm weather, conditions are variable and change rapidly, as anyone who has been on this fishout can tell you.
Equipment: 7, 8, or 9 weight rods with hi-speed, hi-D shooting heads (but don't forget the floating and intermediate sink lines), you never know. Also, step-ladder, rain coat, float tube, waders and fins.
Flies: Woolly worms in black, white, purple, olive, or any color you feel like trying (and don't forget the beetle fly).
How to get there: Take Hwy 80 to Reno-Sparks, take the Pyramid Blvd. off ramp and go north about 35 miles. Crosby Lodge is at Suttcliff, near the Ranger Station.
If you have any questions, you can call Jim at 786-8983, or John Steele at 476-0648. We will be glad to help. Hope to see you there.
Jim will be demonstrating how to put together a deluxe "Pyramid Lake Fishing Ladder" at the Confab on February 14th.

Green River Fishout
Fishmaster:
John Steele - 476-0648

The Green River trip is set for May 8th through the 15th. We will be staying at the Trout Creek Lodge this year. It's in Dutch John, closer to the river. We have room for three more people at the lodge, so if you are interested, give me a call. It's a great place to learn because the fish and the responses to your fly are easy to see. The weather can be changeable, but it's always a good week. Give me a call at 476-0648, for information and to sign up to go. There are alternate places to stay as well, if more than three people want to go, such as Red Canyon Lodge and Flaming Gorge Lodge.
If you are planning to go on the train, call Elaine (688-1561) right away. We need to make train and car rental reservations as a group.

Damsel Fishout
Fishmaster:
Cecilia Stipes. June 25-28, Bear Valley/Arnold area.

This is a "ladies only" fishout designed to bring the women and young ladies in the club together to share experiences and knowledge, and to enjoy camaraderie. Per person cost is based on the sign-up total. Currently I have two cabins on hold for the four days. One of the cabins can sleep 12, or maybe more. Call Cecilia for more details at 335-5727.
