May's guest speaker is Rickey Mitchell. Rickey will speak to us and maybe demo the art of fly fishing from a kayak. Fishing mostly in the central valley's stillwaters, Rickey has managed to master the tricky, multitasking operation of casting and catching fish while piloting a very rocky water craft - the kayak. Rickey will present a slide show on the local waters he most often guides on.
Along with the details of which type of kayak is best for fly fishing, he will also discuss rigging out the kayak. Both dry and wet fishing will be discussed along with what gear he recommends and how to best use it. Rickey is also trying to arrange a demo day in partnership with the Kayak Connection down on the harbor. I will pass on the demo info as soon as I get it. - Tim Loomis
