This is a classic California nymph, originated in 1959 by the late Cal Bird. This fly can be fished in a variety of colors and sizes and is my favorite Upper Sacramento Spring and Summer nymph. All materials will be supplied except thread. Please bring 6/0 tan, brown or camel-colored thread and your own tools, including some sort of dubbing loop tool, as we will be spinning dubbing loops.
Beginners are always welcome, and there will be a limited number of lights, vises and tools.
Please sign up at the May club meeting or call Jon at 423-7394. This is needed so that enough material will be available. If you need to cancel, please call.
