As we head into the summer months, there are many club-sponsored fishouts behind us, and many more still to come. Now is also the time to start thinking about some of our club awards which recognize our members for their outstanding support, hard work and dedication in making our club as great as it is. We have the Dame Juliana Award which is awarded to the person who the club membership votes is the one who best exemplifies our club motto, which is to "promote, educate and enjoy the sport of fly fishing." Start thinking about the person you feel deserves this recognition.
We also have the "Otter Award" which acknowledges any of our members that may have slipped or fell in the water while fishing. If you know of any one that has had this experience this year, call John Steele with the details.
Your Board has been working hard for you this year. The Board just approved the allocation of funds for ten conservation organizations. The Board also approved going back to the Elk's Club for our Annual Dinner and Raffle. This is our major fund raising event of the year.
Remember to take pictures of your fishing trips so that we can share the experience with everyone at our annual slide show in January. Send your digital, slides, or print pictures to Dougald Scott (doscott@cruzio.com).
And finally, don't forget Father's Day, June 20th.
