How fortunate can one fly club be? The list of positives is long on most accounts. One of the assets that we can place a "gold " value rating on is our very own "home town" guide, Ed Marcillac.
Ed has once again agreed to be our speaker as an introduction to his October 16-17th Delta Striper Fish Out. Ed's accomplishments in the sport of fly fishing are tremendous. One of the club's early members, Ed was instrumental in expanding the annual dinner to its current status. Ed taught many of today's San Lorenzo steelhead fishers how to do it right.
Ed moved his family up to Fairfield after retiring from a long career with PG&E. The move was also the beginning for Ed's new life as one of Northern California's preeminent fishing guides on the Lower Sacramento and in the Delta. How many of us can look to Ed as a mentor and educator on the finer arts of striper fishing? Along with his fishing knowledge came acceptance of his abilities by the established legends in the area, namely Jay Murakoshi and Dan Blanton. This has given Ed some highly prized real estate in regional and national fishing publications. Whether looking to upgrade your striper skills or searching for the ultimate delta guide, you can have it all with Ed. Be sure to arrive to the October meeting early as Ed will draw one of the year's largest crowds.
