I am sorry to announce that club member Herb Parnell Jr. passed away the evening of December 6th after a ten-month illness. Herb was an avid fly fisherman. When Herb joined our club, he quickly got involved in learning how to tie his own flies, building his own fly rods, and participating in many of the club's fishouts and other activities, as well as being on our Board Of Directors.
For all of us that got to know Herb, we will always remember his quick wit, and his willingness to entertain us with his many karaoke impressions.
As a result of donations made in Herb's name, a special Herb Parnell Jr. Recognition Award has been established in our club. The Award will be given to a member or members of the club who best demonstrate the enthusiasm for the club that Herb did. If you are interested in donating, call me at 475-4801.
Herb Parnell Jr. will be missed, but not forgotten.
