Your New Newsletter Editor
by Kent Hull

Once getting over the hump of learning to do a few new things with my computer, this newsletter editor job is mostly a piece of cake - except for this column. Dougald Scott is a very tough act to follow. He's treated us to three years of thought-provoking and informative pieces, getting us to think about new things and new ways of looking at things that are important to us fly fishermen. I come to this job with lots of well-reasoned opinions and insights, but most of them are interesting only to me. (Ask Kent Jr. some time about punitive explanations.)
At least to get started, I ask you to help me in this. If there's an issue or topic you'd like to read some thoughts on, tell me, either at a meeting, by email or just hand me a note. Although I have been known to enjoy holding forth at length on topics where I am unencumbered by actual knowledge, if I'm not very well-informed on the topic or issue, I will solicit an article from the club member I believe will have the most interesting insights. And if there's a topic you'd like to do a piece on, that's related to what our club is about, send it to me. I won't tease you about spelling, grammar or punctuation (unless your initials are E. C., of course). I will edit it, of course (that's my job), but I'll always run edits other than spelling, grammar or punctuation by you before publication to make sure your thoughts are still in there.
I look forward to getting your ideas.
