Perry will talk about:
The origin of Tonkin cane and history of its use up to the present;
The history of bamboo fly rod-making up to the present;
How he got into the fabrication of bamboo fly rods; and
How he makes bamboo fly rods.
Perry will also host a barbecue at his shop at 6407 Hwy 9 in Felton (just past Graham Hill Rd) next Sunday, March 6th, starting about noon. Members who intend to participate must sign up at the March Club meeting so he will know how much barbecue fixin's to get. Participants should also bring a dish to share, pot luck. Perry will supply the barbecued steak and shrimp. After the barbecue, Perry will demonstrate his bamboo rodmaking process and methods and exhibit some of his rods.
