In fond memory of Herb, who thoroughly enjoyed the fly tying classes and loved to create his own fly patterns, the club has purchased two Dyna-KingŠ vises for beginners to use in the monthly classes. On each vise is a small plaque saying it was donated in memory of Herb. The club's old vises worked poorly and had to be difficult to use, especially for beginners who didn't need additional frustration. Now those who want to try fly tying will have one less obstacle to learning the skills, and know that they have Herb to thank for the good vises available for their use. Perhaps some who use the new vises will be inspired to emulate Herb's creativity and devise new and fanciful patterns. The club thanks each who donated to the fund, especially his co-workers who wanted to do something in his memory that was lasting and that he would have appreciated very much.
