For some reason today, fishing is the last thing on my mind, I am sitting on the deck of a house high on a bluff on Camano Island in the San Juan Island chain of Washington State. I can see my wife and our dog running, far down on the beach. We are visiting the 85 year young mother of my high school fishing buddy about whom I had written earlier. For some reason this return trip to the Pacific Northwest has particular significance. My thoughts drift to my friends back in California and I know I made the right decision 38 years ago to leave this beautiful place but that doesn't mean I still can't miss it now and again. - Tight Lines, Joe
