Awhile back, John Steele and I were musing at the gym about fall. We both agreed that September and October were the best months of the year to be outdoors. The hot (or in our case, foggy) days of summer are on the wane. The leaves are starting to change. There is a slight nip in the air and the fishing is great If you have never experienced the golden aspen leaves in the High Sierras at this time of year you must. Standing in a stream with an occasional red or yellow leaf floating by I often get the uneasy feeling I have forgotten something. Then I remember it's "back to school time" and I no longer have to do that. In fact it's been quite some time since I've had to do that, but I still get a kick out of it. In short, get out there and enjoy every precious September day you can this fall.
Tight lines, Joe
