Tales of fishing outings, all true!

The Cooks' Biggest Trek Yet
Our longest duration trip ever started June 19th and lasted until August 28th when we met club members at the Bear Valley fishout, at their rented cabin.
Our trip started at Lake Davis where Elaine and Betty Rentz caught a dozen rainbow trout between 18"and 20". This made a great start! We spent the rest of the trip fishing in Montana and Wyoming. We mostly fished rivers, with only a few outings on creeks and some on lakes. Some of the fishing was fantastic, but we were skunked a few times, too. We encountered mountain goats, elk, eagles, moose and buffalo. We herded buffalo down a road for over an hour. The animal that we read warnings about but never saw was the grizzly, maybe because we blew our whistles until our lips were sore. The weather varied from lightning, thunder and downpours to warm sunny days. Overall the trip was great. - John and Elaine Cook
