Thanksgiving - Again
by Joe Bigas

If I really got going I could use the rest of this newsletter to give thanks for the good things we have in the USA, California, and Santa Cruz. So let me limit my remarks to fly fishing and the club.

I had a great time at the annual fund raiser. I met new people and had a casting lesson at Quail Hollow, a beautiful and historic location. I caught a really big fish at the Pyramid Lake fishout. As always the Confab was great, sharing great food with good friends. The high point was the Mammoth Lakes fishout, which I shared with my wife and dog.

I am especially thankful for the members behind the scenes, who make the club run smoothly. Most of these people are listed under 2005 Board of Directors: Officers, Committee Heads, and Members at large. When everything is running smoothly it looks easy. Do you realize there is a person each meeting who opens the Grange hall, buys refreshments, sets up chairs, and stays until everything is put away and clean? This is just one of the many jobs behind the scenes that make your club great!

Happy Thanksgiving - Joe

P.S. We need a couple more of those "behind the scenes" guys. Let me thank you in advance. Call me at 831-476-2711.
